The Money Behind OSU Airport

June 1984 - "Report of the OSU Airport Development Advisory Committee" states the airport is an "incoming producing auxiliary enterprise."

September 1999 - Dr. Nawal Taneja, a former airline president, is named chair of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics and Aviation (now just Aviation). His recent books include:

October 1999 - Doug Hammon hired as new airport director. In a June 17th, 2005 conversation he states that during the interview process the University tells him his job is to promote the airport.

November 2002 - DLZ hired to conduct an Environmental Assessment for OSU in their effort to expand the airport.

September 2004 - During the Facilities Planning Committee meeting of the Ohio State University Board of Trustees, the only question asked by OSU President Karen Holbrook was "Is there any buildable land around the airport right now that will be taken out of the real estate market as a result of any of the expansion plans?"

March 2005 - Airport Director Hammon admits in a Columbus CEO magazine article:

June 2005 - When questioned as to why the airport needs more hangars, airport director Hammon states "because we need more revenue."
